Before the 2016 elections, Cwesi Oteng happened to be one of the few Ghanaian celebrities to openly declare his support for the Akufo Addo-led government.

Unfortunately, unlike his colleagues who were rumored to have received handsome rewards for their affiliations and support for the NPP, he was excluded from that list.

During an interview with Sammy Forson on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, Cwesi Oteng stated that he never received a reward from the party for throwing his weight behind them during the 2016 general elections but he is not bothered.

He added that he has now developed a personal relationship with the party and its leader, hence he can now make efforts to see the president if he wants to.
