Ghanaian Afro-Highlife musician, Eugene Kwame Marfo, widely known as Kuami Eugene has said that he is not a clout chaser.

In an interview on YFM’s Shouts on Y with Winston Michaels and Naa Dzama, the artist has said that his outfit for the just-ended Vodafone Ghana Music Award (VGMA) was not for clout.

Kwame Eugene was trending on social media after his looks at the VGMA events went viral. A lot of people mocked the artist over his look and also questioned the reason for his look. While some said he dressed to chase clout, others also said he lacked a fashion sense. However, the artist says his looks were not for clout.

“I’ve never come out to chase clout. I barely even talk on Twitter. I don’t chase clouts, people actually chase me because I’m always in my corner”, he said.

Kuami Eugene added “you see me once a year at VGMA, everyone talks about me and you don’t even see me again. All you hear are my songs and features. Think deeply about this. Most of the things you hear about Kuami Eugene are probably his songs being played out there”.
