Sarkodie spoke fondly of the late Ghanaian artist, Castro when he appeared in the studios of Hitz FM during the week for an exclusive interview session.

The newly crowned Artiste of the Decade at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards said he has about 7 songs with Castro that is yet to be released. He told Andy Dosty that despite pressure from his management and fans, he’s still adamant to release the songs.

He said:

I have about 7 songs with Castro that is yet to he released. My management and fans have been pushing for it but I just don’t feel like releasing them.

Speaking about how his biggest record of all time, Adonai was released, Sarkodie mentioned that Castro was hurt after he snubbed him at a show.

Castro wanted us to perform one of the songs I had with him that was not released yet but I told him I purposely came to the show to surprise someone. Not knowing he had taken it seriously so when it was time to record the Adonai, he cake in with a straight face and was not smiling.
It was after the session that he told me everything and I apologised.

On 6 July 2014, Castro and Miss Janet Bandu were reported to have drowned following a jet ski accident in Ada Estuary while on holiday with the Gyan brothers.

After several days of search by the marine police and expert swimmers, the were not found, giving way to the possibility they are dead.
