Young Ghanaian singer iOna Reine says that she has never sounded like the late dancehall artiste, Ebony Reigns.

Recall that after the death of late dancehall artiste Ebony Reigns, there were few people who came into the face of the media claiming to have a touch of Ebony’s look and voice. Most of these ladies who tried to portray themselves as the lookalike of Ebony Reigns were all in dreadlocks.

One of the artists who tried to imitate Ebony Reigns was singer iOna Reine. She was seen in one of her video tracks dressed like the late artist and tried to act like her in a way in the music video. But iOna has come out to say that she has always been herself and not Ebony Reigns.

In an interview on Hitz FM, Daybreak, she told Andy Dosty that she has never sounded like Ebony. This comes after the host questioned her if she has now discovered herself in the music space since she was bemoaned for sounding like Ebony.

In responding to the question, she said, “I don’t agree. I have always sounded like myself. I think that whole thing was like certain psychology when people lose someone they love and there is a little bit of that person in another person. They easily hear or look like that person for them psychologically so that was how they were making it up to be”.

“I think I have found my path now because I don’t get that feedback too much like before”, she noted.
