Talented Ghanaian songstress, Francisca Gawugah, affectionately known as Sista Afia has revealed that she always pays the musicians she contracts to write songs for her.

This comes after the “Koti” hitmaker, Ayesem revealed that Sista Afia has been very ungrateful for not giving him the necessary credit for the songs he wrote for her. Ayesem stated that Sista Afia in an interview she granted on the United Showbiz segment failed to mention his name when she was asked who contributes to writing of her songs.
He also expressed his disappointments, adding that most of the services he rendered to the songstress were free of charge yet she refused to acknowledge him.
In reaction to that, Sista Afia in an interview with Andy Disty on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz revealed that she has always been paying those who write songs for her.
She revealed that that likes of Bisa Kdei, Okyeame Kwame and Singlet have all written songs for her before, yet have never come out to talk about it to the public because they are matured people in the music industry.
Sista Afia also added that she mostly gets involved in the songwriting process and does not abandon the job for her contributors to do them alone. She also revealed that she has also written songs for people and would never mention their names on air.
“I have written songs for some people but I will not mention their names. Okyeame Kwame has written a song for me before. I involve myself in the songs written for me. I do not leave it all for others to work on and I pay the people who write songs for me“, she said.
