Disappointed Ghanaian musician Kidi has revealed he realized he wasn’t the winner of the ultimate Artiste of the Year award at the just-ended 22nd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) when Hon. Mark Okraku Mantey opened the leaflet before the announcement.

Kidi stated he was really looking into the eyes of the new Deputy Minster of Tourism Hon. Mark Okraku Mantey with his long eye sight when he opened the leaflet to have a look at the winner of the Artiste of the Year award of the night and to his surprised, he realized he was not the winner.

Speaking on the ‘Day Break Hitz’ morning show with Andy Dosty on Accra based Hitz FM, Andy asked how he (Kidi) noticed he wasn’t the winner from where he was sitting, Kidi answered he could see Mark’s eyes going wild when he was reading the name on the leaflet.

He said Mark’s eyes was a signal to him that the person who is taking the award home has a long name and for a second, he thought it was his colleague musician and record label mate Kuami Eugene who has won it back to back.

Kidi in the interview also expressed his disappointment in some tweets from some Christians tagging him as a ‘demon’. He said Ghanaians and Christians in Ghana should start to learn that musicians who do other genres aside Gospel music are not demons.

He added that some of the circular musicians in the country even has good characters and good manners than most Gospel musicians in the country that people thinks are ‘saint’.
