Emelia Brobbey has revealed that before the demise of the legendary Nana Kwame Ampadu, she and her team visited him for permission to sample his iconic song ‘Emelia’ which is the title of her newest single.

“I went to him with my team and told him I wanted to use my own name but I knew he had a song titled Emelia so he should grant me permission.

“And he was like, ‘I love you from afar, I support you so even if you want the whole song, you can take it’. But I wanted the Emelia verse so I would say inspiration comes from Nana Kwame Ampadu”, she stated in a fresh interview with the Graphic Showbiz recently.

The Kumasi-based actress who is doing everything possible to gain recognition as a singer since she added music to her resume three years ago, also revealed that she’s looking forward to working with some mainstream artists to establish her brand firmly.

“I have actually done something with Wendy Shay, Kuami Eugene, Dada KD, and Prince Bright but I want more of such collaborations. I’m thankful to God because a lot has gone on but He has been my strength.

“And I want to say thank you to all my fans, they have been so supportive since day one when I started movies through to being a TV presenter and now a musician, they’ve still got my back,” she said.
