In a recent interview on TV3, veteran actress Grace Omaboe aka Maame Dokono revealed that Shatta Wale was a part of the television program By The Fireside, a programme that was designed to instill moral lessons into kids through folktales (Ananse stories).
However Shatta Wale has set the record straight, insisting that he wasn’t a product of the popular kids programme because he wasn’t fluent in Twi and thus did not get the chance to ‘beat the gong gong.’
He however maintained that the legendary actress foretold that he would be great in future and he’s grateful the ‘prophecy’ has been fulfilled.
He said:
You wanted me to play a role in your by the fireside series as a gong gong beater.In fact i trust if my TWI was good at that time i would hv been in it but u said one thing which touched my heart at that tender age that “wow boy, you are very good and will go far just learn the twi for me ok.’
