Gospel artist Evangelist Akwasi Nyarko has expressed ‘’total disappointment’’ in the organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Charter House failure to offer him nomination in this year’s Awards. Akwasi Nyarko, whose hit song ‘Bo Mpae’ took the airwaves by storm last year is shocked as to why his hit song did not get nomination by Charter House.

In an interview with EIB’s Abusua 96.5 FM, Evangelist Akwasi Nyarko registered his disenchantment about how his hit song ‘Bo Mpae’ was snubbed in the ‘popular song of the year and ‘gospel artist of the year’ category.

He argues his song which has dominated the airwaves should have been in the nomination list if not for the sake of the organizers being unfair.

According to him, he has continuously been snubbed by Charter House over the years despite recording hit songs such as ‘Yebe Ye Dede’, ‘Mafa Yesu Abo Mebo’, and ‘David ba’ among others.

”There’s no fairness in this country because what they have done is really beyond my imagination, I am wondering how they do their nomination” an unhappy Akwasi Nyarko said.

He continued ”Well if Ghanaians have realized the god job I am doing and are happy with it and Charter House has decided to give recognition to my works I won’t say anything again but I will continue to pray to my maker to be my guide and give me more heart touching gospel songs to serve his people. My music career is a calling by God and I will remain in his arms to serve him obediently”.

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has been characterized with a lot of controversies over how some musicians get snubbed easily by organizers of the biggest music event and this year’s award won’t be an exception as some musicians notably M.anifest, Maccasio, Jupiter, and Evangelist Akwasi Nyarko have all expressed their dissatisfaction in the nomination list.
