Christiana Twene, better known by her stage name Obaapa Christy, is a Ghanaian gospel performer who recently received the title of Reverend.

Obaapa Christy said in an exclusive interview with Amansan Krakye that despite having received her ordination as a Reverend priest, she has not yet made up her mind to start her own church.

“Please even though I’m now a reverend but I have not yet established my own church,” she remarked on Kastle FM in Cape Coast.

“But when the time comes for me to establish a church in God’s own time He will show his grace,” she continued on the Kastle Drive Show.

In other news, the majority of those who have long followed the entertainment business arguably believe that Obaapa Christy’s breakthrough altered the course of gospel music in Ghana.

The renowned gospel performer, who is currently celebrating 20 years in the music business, was questioned about how she was able to transform gospel music in Ghana.

Obaapa Christy in an interview told Amansan Krakye “Most people say that I changed the face of gospel music in Ghana but how I managed to do that is just by the grace of God.

“That’s why I said it earlier that God brought all of us into this world for a purpose and so I see it to my purpose why God brought me here,” she continued on Kastle FM in Cape Coast.

“I really thank God that most people say I changed the face of gospel music in Ghana and it’s a big honour for me,” she added on the Kastle Drive Show.
