An old video of Asake discussing the renowned artist Ayodeji Balogun, better known by his stage name Wizkid, has surfaced online.

Following the release of his debut album, Mr. Money With The Vibes (MMWTV), the quickly rising talent, who has been on many people’s lips for some time, talked about the artists he looked up to.

Days after Asake alluded to his difficulties prior to the spotlight in an interview that reappeared online, Mr. Money expressed his admiration for Wizkid.

Asake stated in the aforementioned video that Wizkid is the only performer in the Nigerian entertainment sector to whom he looks up.

He said this:

In other news, YBNL signee Fireboy has described the circumstances that led to the creation of his joint project with Asake, another member of the label.

The popular musician revealed that he has known Asake since they were both students at Obafemi Awolowo University in an interview with American music mogul Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1.

You may remember that the duo released a successful hit song a few months ago. Fireboy claims that he did encounter a problem while recording the song and was at a loss as to how to handle the Chorus.

Fireboy, who identified himself as a “selfish songwriter,” stated that he spoke with Olamide, the head of his label, who suggested that he put Asake on.

Speaking about Asake, Fireboy said:

“He has that crazy personality, he’s a born superstar. We have that synergy from way back in school.

We connect because of the struggles (which are similar) because we went to the same uni, that’s why our synergy was the same. It’s a song that tells our stories different ways”
