Legendary Highlife musician, Obuoba Jackson Alfred Adofo has recalled one of his most memorable experience and awkward moment as he narr ates how he spent a night at a refuse dump simply because he wanted to avoid some armed robbers from attacking him.

Narrating his ordeal in an interview on Angel FM, J.A Adofo said that he once traveled to Agege in Lagos State, Nigeria to buy a Mitsubishi vehicle but upon his arrival at the shop, it was closed and he decided to spend the night at a hotel but he was warned that spending his night at that particular hotel is very risky because robbery is very rampant over there.

“Some two Ghanaians I met advised me not to sleep at the hotel because it was notorious for robberies. Out of fear, I took a blanket and moved down to a refuse dump by the side of the hotel where I spent the night till the next day.”

“True to the words of his Ghanaian acquaintances, the whole hotel was robbed that night”, he disclosed.

He further disclosed that the person who led them to Nigeria was the same person who conspired with the armed robbers to rob them of their cash so the only option they had was to sleep at the refuse dump till the next morning.

“My manager, Mr. Nyarko, suggested that I leave for Ghana via a commercial bus after we finally bought the car while he came later with the car,” he said.

Adofo is described as one of Ghana’s world-acclaimed highlife musicians around. He has won several awards and performed on numerous world stages. He also taught some USA university students how to play the guitar in 2004. In 1990, he toured Europe as well as Africa.
