J. Cole Leaves Rwanda After Fulfilling His Basketball Contract

Reports indicate top American rapper J. Cole has left Rwanda after fulfilling his basketball contract with the Rwandan Patriots.

Recall the rapper signed a professional contract with the Rwandan Men basketball team couple of weeks ago before the start of the Basketball African League. He was scheduled to play a number of matches per his contract.

J. Cole with his contract with the Rwandan Patriots made a number of records and history becoming the first rapper to cover for the renowned basketball magazine called the ‘Slam’ magazine since his publication in 1994.

He released his much anticipated album ‘The Off-Season’ during his time at the African country and during the tournament. Without promos, the album is said to have generated about 1.76 million dollars in its first week.

J. Cole before leaving the African country and returning to the United States had five points, three assists and five rebounds coming from the bench in three games. He is said to have left because of some unknown ‘family obligations’.

During his time with the team, J. Cole and his other team mates and coaching staffs had the privilege of visiting the Rwandan president Paul Kagame at the village Urugwiro in Kigali couple of days ago.

The Patriots are in the Quarter finals of the maiden edition of the Basketball Africa League championship and will face off Clube Ferroviário de Maputo of Mozambique for the final ticket to the semi finals of the Play-offs.
