Ghanaian actor cum politician, John Dumelo has provided a solution that will see students of the University of Ghana (Legon) have enough accommodation on campus that will curb the current lack of accommodation.

Students of Ghana’s premier university are currently stranded on campus as there is no bed space for them.

Many people have reacted to the situation and in his reaction, John Dumelo quizzed why the management of the university is refusing to collaborate with private individuals and build hostels and other halls for students.

The post he made reads;

“Every year there are Accomodation problems on Legon campus. This year is no exception. For how long are we going to face such problems? There’s land, why not collaborate with private individuals under BOT system and have new hostel facilities or traditional halls?”

Some reactions from social media users are;

@Ehansoni1 – Hon. @johndumelo this situation is very challenging cloth literally with internal politics. Why will some lecturers sign a petition, for @OVAGlobal1 to stop a project of 4000beds aimed at curbing some of these accommodations challenges. #VandalsAnnexProject

@BrownDuffour – How is that u open a portal for booking hall accommodation at 9am, by 9:02am all rooms in the halls are fully booked? IN 2 MINUTES… HOW?
Obviously, people put in charge of the digital system are themselves creating chaos so they cash in. Same people selling rooms for 2500gh

@mroludarajones – The new vice chancellor is seeking to construct satellite campuses across the country forgetting to tackle this peculiar issue.. Charity should begin at home.
