Katie Hobbs Husband: Who Is Patrick Goodman – On March 8, 2017, Hobbs declared her candidacy for secretary of state of Arizona. The Associated Press prematurely announced Gaynor’s candidacy on November 6, 2018.

Given how closely the race was contested, neither Hobbs nor Gaynor initially proclaimed victory. Over the next few days, more votes were tallied, and Gaynor’s lead dwindled. By a margin of 20,000 votes, Hobbs was named the victor on November 16.

Hobbs, who was chosen to serve in the Arizona House of Representatives in 2010, credits Emerge Arizona with sparking her political interest.

She decided to run for office because she felt that the government was not paying attention to the people that she assisted in her capacity as a social worker. She works to eradicate domestic violence.

Black Senate staffer Talonya Adams complained to Hobbs about racial discrimination during his first term as minority leader in 2015, and Hobbs ultimately fired her in part.

After being fired in November 2021, Adams filed a discrimination lawsuit, which was later settled for $2.75 million.

She declared her intention to run for governor of Arizona in the 2022 general election in October 2020. Governor Doug Ducey’s term will soon come to an end. She won the Democratic nomination over Marco A. Lopez Jr. despite skipping the debate.

In order to prevent Kari Lake from using the discussion to further election fraud, Hobbs chose not to engage in a debate with her. Hobbs defeated Lake and won.

According to Hobbs, the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security informed her that Dominion Voting Systems should re-certify the voting machines for use in the future because it was impossible to tell whether they had been compromised after the county turned them over in response to the Senate subpoena.

While the subpoenaed machines were in the care of the Arizona Senate’s contractor, the county spent over $20,000 on the lease of other machines to allow two local elections to be held; the costs of re-certifying the surrendered machines after their return would be in the six figures.
