Ghanaian Highlife/Afrobeat singer, Gregory Bortey Newman, affectionately known as King Promise has expressed shock to have worked with American artist, Chance The Rapper.

Afrobeat singer and songwriter King Promise has started his year on a good note with his music career. King Promise has hinted at a collaboration with American singer, Chance the Rapper.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Berla Mundi on TV3’s New Dawn, the ‘Oh Yeah’ hitmaker stated that he had the opportunity to meet Chance through Vic Mensah when they arrived in Ghana. And even though he was out of town, they linked up when he returned.

“When Chance came, I got the phone call that we should meet. I was out of town but linked up immediately after I got back. Vic introduced me to Chance. We made a song that night, but we have a lot we are working on.”

King Promise disclosed that he never thought he would be working with Chance the Rapper. “I’m not gonna lie. I never thought I could work with him. I’m a fan of his and love his music, but I didn’t know we could meet up one day. We made some sick stuff. There are so many great prospects coming in the pipeline.”

American rapper Chance The Rapper arrived in Ghana in January as he had previously promised in 2019. After his arrival, he was spotted with his fellow rapper Vic Mensa who also visited Ghana in December. Chance the Rapper was spotted with artists in Ghana like Sarkodie, Kelvin Boy and King Promise.
