During this Year‘s VGMAS, something took place on the night, and that was highlife legend Amakye Dede praising Highlife Artiste of the Year winner, Kuami Eugene for his talent and crowning him as the ‘Highlife King’ later on that evening.
Highlife musician, Kumi Guitar was on Zylofon FM and when asked about his opinion on what happened at the VGMAS night, he said,
“What happened at the VGMAS was for hype, i don’t see it as factual. The industry is now all for hypes. Kuami Eugene is more of Afro musician, he doesn’t do 100% highlife to be crown as the Highlife King”
