Unbeknownst to herself, a 23-year-old lady gave birth in a hospital toilet and nearly flushed the baby down the toilet.

Lalene Malik, a student, was hurried to Northwick Park Hospital in Harrow, London, by her family on March 26 after she complained of a severe stomach ache at their house in Greenford, west London.

Lalene went to the bathroom while waiting at the hospital, and her mom, Sumra, said she observed her writhing in agony and contacted the doctors.

Lalene raised an alarm as she was ready to flush the toilet when she observed a small arm in the toilet bowl. The baby is thought to have spent seven seconds in the toilet before being saved by medics.

The infant appeared to be lifeless and not breathing when medics arrived, but they were able to revive him.

Lalene said, “I was gone. My mind was blank. I was put in another room because obviously I was crying and my mum was crying.

“It was a complete shock and a trauma for both of us and I felt that my life was in danger.

“(My mum) started crying and (said) to me: ‘Don’t you know you have a baby?’ From then on I was pale.”

“I’ve seen young ladies like Lalene before coming to A&E not knowing they’re pregnant and delivering in the A&E department, but it was always in a more safe place,” she added.

The baby was named Mohammed Ibrahim, the baby, and is now healthy after receiving oxygen and being watched by the medical experts.

The new mother described her kid as a “miracle baby,” but also said her family doctor failed to do adequate tests on her to diagnose her pregnancy.

“If I had known I was pregnant, I would have cherished those moments going shopping, getting stuff ready for the baby,” she said
