Buzzing American female rapper, Alyssa Michelle Stephens, widely known as Latto won the Best New Artist at the 2022 BET Awards
The annual BET Awards ceremony was held yesterday, Sunday, June 26, 2022 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The prestigious award ceremony which celebrates Black excellence in music, acting, sports and other fields of entertainment.
This years award was hosted by actress and singer, Taraji P. Henson for the second year in a row. The 22nd award ceremony saw high-profile act across the entertainment industry receive trophies for their work.
The 2022 BET Awards saw emerging American rap artiste, Latto win the ‘Best New Artiste’ of the year award. Latto beat Baby Keem, Benny the Butcher, Muni Long, Tems and Yung Bleu to win the coveted award.

Latto is a distinctive American musician with a unique approach to making music. She first appeared on the reality television series The Rap Game in 2016, where she was known as Miss Mulatto and won the show’s first season.
The BET Awards is an American award show that was established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television network to celebrate African Americans in music, acting, sports and other fields of entertainment.
