MzVee left Lynx Entertainment seven years ago and later bounced back after a 2-year break from the music industry. According to her, she went away from the scenes because she was suffering from depression. She disclosed that she had to work on her mental health before bouncing back.

“It’s been very interesting. I won’t lie. Being with a record label and being on my own are very different things. And they both have their upsides and downsides.

“But to be an independent artist, I have a hand in every single thing I do, and that’s powerful for me. I mean, it’s still difficult because you know I’m basically executive producing everything I do.”

MzVee also blew her own trumpet for surviving and producing good music even after she broke away from her former record label.

“I’m going to give myself a pat on the back because 3 years after my label, I’m still being nominated for awards. Picking some, and I’m still doing the work.”
