Ghanaian musician, Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda who is widely known in showbiz as MzVee has once again called on the various bodies to see to it that the few female musicians in the Ghanai an music industry are adequately supported.

The DAAVI hitmaker made this known in a recent submission she made on the popular Ghanaian radio station, Hitz FM.

In her submission, she said;

“It’s very shocking for men to disagree with me whenever I say women are not getting enough airplay and audience.

It is not as if the radio chooses to play more songs from males than females. It is not intentional. I don’t think it is intentional for our airwaves to be choked with Nigerian music. It just happens.

We should be intentional about having an all-female show and stuff. Let’s be intentional about making it work.

The male-female songs airplay ratio is clearly seen and heard. Let’s give the little female artists in this industry some level of support.

If a guy goes to ask for help somewhere, he might get a ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. But for a female, she would have to give something in return for the favour.”

In an earlier submission, MzVee acknowledged the fact that she feels older and wiser after spending about ten years in the music industry and having enough experience.

She made this known in a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz and in her soothing submission.
