Evangelist Richard Kwamena Agyensem Prah, the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC’s) 2020 parliamentary candidate in the Nhyiaeso constituency, predicts that the party will have better electoral prospects by 2024.
After a long list of broken promises by the NPP, he observes that Ashantis now have newfound faith in the NDC.
On a Kumasi radio talk show, Mr. Prah expressed his opinion that even in the NPP’s stronghold, where the party is currently in power, the NDC was beginning to reorganize.
‘‘Look, our grassroots re-organization is yielding the needed results, we are currently registering new members in Ashanti Region, and I can tell you, the Ashantis are running for membership cards which is biometric’’
‘‘I have NPP people calling me day and night, they want to join the NDC now. The NPP and Nana Addo has disappointed them’’
The NDC man thinks Ashantis now recognize the NPP has always engaged in body politics based on dishonesty and carefully thought-out lies.
‘‘Gone are the days the NPP told a lie that Kumasi and Ashanti was its stronghold, those days are gone forever. You just watch the statistics, NDC always gains in national elections’’
‘‘This time, we will tolerate the NPP in their propaganda and lies, Ashanti have loved us and they continue to love us, if not for the lies and deceit of the NPP’’
Ahead of the 2024 elections, the national executives of the NDC are now in the Ashanti region starting a membership campaign. The membership drive is supposed to end on 31st August 2022.
