Ghanaian rapper, Samuel Adu Frimpong, known widely in the entertainment scene as Medikal has rallied behind the songstress, Noella Wiyaala to grab a nomination for Grammy awards.

After Nigerians won their first-ever Grammy prize with Burna Boy’s “Twice As Tall” album, most Ghanaian musicians faced abuse on social media.

Rocky Dawuni, a Reggae musician from Ghana, was able to secure his second Grammy nomination at the 64th Grammy Awards, which will be held this year in 2022. Others, including Stonebwoy and Fuse ODG, have made appearances at the Recording Academy after albums on which they appeared received nominations.

Well, the debate still remains undecisive as Ghana still awaits its first musician to win an award from the prestigious recording academy.

Medikal perhaps after listening to songs from the Wa-born singer, Noella Wiyaala has rallied behind the songstress for Grammys next year. He made his thoughts known in a tweet.

Meanwhile, prominent Ghanaian Highlife musician, Kofi Kinaata, real name Martin King Arthur has revealed that he ventured into the music scene purposely to put his hometown, Efiekuma on the map for people to recognize them.

According to him, his aim in music has never been to take over internationally with his songs but to make his hometown, Efiekuma, Takoradi, and the entire Western region popular on the map of Ghana.

Speaking in an interview with NY DJ on BTM Afrika, Kofi Kinaata stated that musicians have different purposes and aim they want to achieve in their career. He stated that others only want to entertain their fans while others seek to attain a global stance.
