Renowned Ghanaian man of God, Archbishop Duncan-Williams addressing the issue of corruption in the country stated that the situation is deep-rooted in our culture.
In his view, if we want to really tackle corruption, we must first tackle it from our inner circles indicating that it would be prudent if we take it from there.
He made this comment during a recent interview where he stated that money has its good side and bad side.
He said to tackle corruption we need to look into our culture and family system. He indicated that it is not anyone who can handle anything he is given.
He made an example saying, talents are given based on a person’s ability. He used talents to represent money saying if one person has the ability to handle GHC 1,000, it doesn’t mean that the same person has the ability to handle GHC 100,000 indicated that the person is being placed in harm’s way if he is given GHC 100,000 to take care of.
According to him, money becomes good when it is found in the hands of the right people and becomes evil when they are found in the hands of the wrong people.
