It’s no secret that Ghana has played a huge role in Nigerian movies and music. This can be traced back to several years ago when Nigerians came to Ghana to study the component of our Highlife music and movies (don’t forget Highlife is the bonafide property of Ghana before it spread to the other sub-region).

Recently, the likes of Mr. Eazi and Patoranking, two famous Nigerian artists, admitted that contemporary Ghanaian music has impact on the kind of music Nigerians also produced.

This school of thought has been reinforced by Praiz, a Nigerian songwriter, singer, producer and entertainer. According to him, a lot of hit songs churned out by Nigerians have “Ghanaian bounce”.

Praiz made these revelations on “Rythmzlive” on Ghone TV to hosts DJ Xpliph & Aaron Ayiih. According to him, Ghanaian and Nigerian songs have a lot of similarities.

When asked by Dj Xpliph what he loves about the Ghanaian music industry, he retorted, ” one thing I love about Ghanaian music is its simplicity.

It is very simple but complex at the same time. It takes someone with great art to be able to put out work which is complex yet very simple”. Music is a universal language, so I should be able to tap into your sound, listen and fuse with your sound”.
