Ghanaian Highlife singer, Kaakyire Kwame Fosu has stated that the highlife music genre lacks the support and promotions it requires to project its name to the global music market.

In an interview with Abeiku Santana on UTV’s “Atuu” segment, KK Fosu stated that most young talents feel skittish to venture into the highlife music genre because they presume the genre is outmoded and they lack the wisdom to do so.
He stated that the likes of him, Kofi Nti, and Ofori Amponsah stood firm and took over from their predecessors to promote the highlife music genre during their era but unfortunately, the new crop of musicians have failed to replicate the same thing during their era.
The self-acclaimed vocal god stated that the new school has blended the highlife genre with western genres like Afrobeats which to him, makes a lot of sense and still promotes the genre in a different way.
KK Fosu also said that the highlife genre lacks the promotion it needs to be recognized internationally and also to identify Ghanaians with all music-related activities.

In other news, Lynx Entertainment signed artiste, Eugene Kwame Marfo, widely known as Kuami Eugene has explained the idea and motive behind his style of fashion at the just-ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Speaking in an interview with Kwadow Sheldon on the “Convo With The Head”, Kuami Eugene named his style of fashion at the VGMAs “Rags To Riches” which signifies his journey in life and music career.
The Afrobeat/Highlife crooner stated that he wanted to send a message to Ghanaians about his journey in life on that faithful day but afterward, he had to return back to his normal look just to avoid unnecessary backlashes on social media.
As a reminder, Kuami Eugene’s outfit sparked mixed reactions on social media. He had one side of his hair braided and the other side unbraided. His suit also had one side tattered and the other side untattered. He managed to grab almost everyone’s attention with his style but a few bashed him for his choice of fashion on that night.
