Speaking in an interview with the lifestyle & celebrity blogger, Zionfelix on the Uncut Show, Mzvee stated that her parents never wanted her to venture into music not because of the kind of genres she wanted to do but the music itself.

She revealed that her parents had the perception that music was meant for unserious people who have nothing better to do with their lives.

Mzvee said that her parents presumed that she might end up doing drugs and sleeping around with people in the industry since that has been the rumor about music since the beginning of time.

“My parents’ was not with the genre first of all but it was the music and they didn’t want me to do it. Those times music was not a serious thing, it looked like it was for people who didn’t have anything to do”, she said.

Irrespective of the backlashes and her parents’ disapproval of her decision to do music, Mzvee revealed that she had to keep going and pushing through in her career just so she can earn her parents’ trust.

She added that she had to convince her parents that she wouldn’t sway off the path they raised her by achieving more success in her music career and keeping up with a good behavior.
