One of the best music duo in the music circles in Ghana, Nana Acheampong and Daddy Lumba redefined the music landscape in Ghana with their own rendition of High-life until their untimely split years ago.

Years after going their separate ways amidst varied reportage of greed and woman being the underlying factor, Nana Acheampong granted a new interview to throw more light on what caused their infamous split and how he met Lumba in the first place.

According to him, they met in 1989 in Germany where both were seeking greener pastures.

“I was living in a flat and after some days I detected he also rented an apartment on the same flat. Occasionally I would be singing while engaging in some chores and overheard him doing same at one point or the other. After some time we became friends”, he revealed on Hammer Time on Kumasi based Pure FM.

“I introduced with the band I was playing with…they were whites and they agreed he come to be part of us. We performed on several shows but after some time we also decided to come together and produce our own music and therefore hit the studio”, he revealed.

Asked why they bore the same resemblance confusing their fans at certain times he answered” it may be because we were together for quite long a time and as a result of hairstyle and mode of dressing”.

He added that it could also be the case that they have the same sense of fashion which informs the reason they dress in the same way.
