The President of IMANI Africa, Frankin Cudjoe has said in a new post on Facebook that the president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo needs the intervention of God to steer the country to meet the expectations of Ghanaians.
He further added, albeit sarcastically that the 77-years old ruler has suffered ‘muscle pull’ because he was in much hurry to fix the country when he attained power. He made the comment in consonance with the agitations that have erupted amongst Ghanaians underpinned in the new political movement dubbed ‘Fix the country.’
The #Fixthecountry which started massively on social media, is designed to put pressure on the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) under the stewardship of Nana Akufo Addo. The campaigners want the government to bring the country back on track following the worsening economic conditions and decline in the living standards of the citizens.
Mr Cudjoe believes the President needs prayers because he and his government do not have money problems because they’ve borrowed enough since they resumed office.
“I know, but e get muscle pull as he starts dey race. E no bi money problem too, because the money dieer he borrows Chao. Covid too slow am, but he get plenty covid money too oh. Anyways e dey hia prayers. I go pray give am tonight. Make we help am succeed. Amen.”
In a related development, the Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwesi Amoako-Atta has said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been fixing the problems of this country created by John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) since 2017.
He further added that there should be a national debate for a comparison to be made between President Akufo-Addo’s four years leadership and former president John Dramani Mahama’s eight years term.
According to him, the President has been fixing the country since he took over from Mahama, particularly, the roads sector. He noted that the NPP is fixing all the mess of the former administration under John Dramani Mahama.
His statement as quoted by the Ghanaweb suggests there’s nothing to be fixed as the clarion call by the masterminds of the Fix the country are trumpeting.
