The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay has recklessly stated that the new political movement ‘Fix the country’ was masterminded by elements within the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The NPP stalwart suggested in an interview on Starr FM that there’s nothing to fix since the Nana Akufo Addo-led administration is on the right path whilst adding vehemently these campaigners of the movement which started strongly on social media was orchestrated by the NDC supporters.

“It’s a democratic country, you can have an opinion, maybe most of the NDC people and maybe they are even referring to what then-candidate Akufo-Addo did say that when you are in power and people are complaining that things aren’t going well, fix it. Of course, the government is in the act of fixing the problems in this country.”

“Talk about dumsor, it’s not the dumsor as we know it in the NDC era that took place for four years, a few problems that we encountering. We are having problems with our distributing lines and definitely, efforts are being made to repair the broken down ones.”

“So, if they say we should fix the country, definitely at our pace we doing that, a pace that Ghanaians will be happy with. We have explained that the situation is not permanent, it’s just a three-four months situation that people are making it look as if everything is broken down and we are not doing anything about it”.

The #Fixthecountry is a new political movement designed to put pressure on the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) under the stewardship of Nana Akufo Addo. The campaigners want the government to bring the country back on track following the worsening economic conditions and decline in the living standards of the citizens.
