Ghanaian reggae songwriter and singer, Rocky Dawuni has stated that not every sound needs to sound like Afrobeat.

In an interview on the Daybreak morning segment on Hitz FM with Andy Dosty, the one-time Ghana nominee said it musicians should desist from making their songs sound like Afrobeat.
According to him, Ghana has been exciting and innovative when it comes to music, hence he believes it is not necessary to make their songs sound Afrobeat since there are other genres in the music fraternity.
“Not every song has to sound like Afro beats. Ghana has always been exciting and innovating when it comes to music”, he said.
He further said that Africa is not defined by a single genre because there are a variety of genres musicians can choose from.
“Africa is not defined by only one sound”, he said.
In other news, Ghanaian media personality, Merqury Quaye has revealed that he has a concept for Black Sherif’s new banger “Soja”.
Following several months of famine, Black Sherif made the decision to bless his followers and all music aficionados with another song that has the potential to become a worldwide success, “Soja.”
This comes months after he released “Kwaku The Traveler,” which dominated charts and earned dominance throughout the world. Both in Nigeria and Ghana, the song reached No. 1 on Apple Music, making the composer one of the select few musicians in Ghana to make that advancement in their musical careers.
Just a few hours after the song’s release, Black Sherif spoke with a group of panelists in a radio studio, among them the head of the 3Music Network, Sadiq Abdulai Abu, and described the inspiration behind and message he wishes to convey to his fans in his new song.
He claims that the song addresses the necessity for self-awareness in order to prevent one’s own worries and unpleasant emotions from distracting them from their life’s purpose and objectives.
Speaking on Hitz FM, Merqury Quaye said that he has a concept for the music video shoot for the song, hence his management should reach out to him for the concept.
