A viral video circulating on the internet captures an Allentown Police Officer kneeling on the neck of a black man which might prompt demonstration.

The video which was filmed by a driver passing by captures three police officers of which one was holding the man down on the pavement while the other kneels on his neck. This was the exact situation that led to the demise of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

The man’s identity is still unknown as well as his crime but the police department has restricted all officers from using chokeholds and other neck restraints on criminals during arrests after the death of George Floyd.

On Saturday night, protesters embarked on a Black Lives Matter protest of which the Mayor of Allentown, Ray O’Connel, and the Chief of Police, Glenn Grannitz showed up to ease tension.

In reaction to the video, the attorney representing George Floyd’s family, Ben Crump tweeted; “@AllentownPolice held down this man’s face to the pavement and then one of its officers placed their knee on his neck!! This happened yesterday and is exactly what led to #GeorgeFloyd’s death. We need this officer’s name and badge # NOW. #ICantBreathe”.
