Some family members of the founder and leader of God’s Way International Church Bishop Daniel Obinim have accused the Ghana Police of deliberately delaying the bail process of the Man of God in order to keep him in custody.

The two family members who are doing a follow up on the bail of the man of God Madam Elsie Asiedu and Madam Jennifer Yawa Quartey told Starr FM in an interview that, the police headed by the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) are purposefully frustrating the process in order to prevent his bail even after submitting the necessary documents. The also disclosed in the interview that, they’ve been at the police station since 7AM without anyone attempting to process the bail.

According to the Sureties, the police claims that the Man of God is still in police custody due to his inability to meet the bail conditions prescribed by the Magistrate who presided over his case. They are however demanding that the police does the needful and grant the Bishop the bail granted by the District Court.

The District Court granted Bishop Daniel Obinim bail in the sum of a hundred thousand Ghana Cedis (100,000). Bishop Obinim was charged with publication of false news and forgery of a document contrary to section 208 and 159 of the Criminal and Other Offences Act (Act 29).
