England Queen, Her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II has paid her tribute to the late former President of Ghana, JJ Rawlings.

In the funeral brochure of Papa J, the queen indicated that she vividly recalls coming to meet the former President in 1999. She also recognized the invaluable contribution JJ Rawlings made to Ghana’s democracy and the Commonwealth.

The Royal Majesty’s own words were: “I recall fondly my visit to Ghana in 1999 and the many discussions we had at the Commonwealth Heads of Government meetings”

“He made an invaluable contribution to the creation of the current constitution and returning Ghana to democracy in 1992”
