China, after barely recovering from the deadly coronavirus has been hit by another tragedy which has seen dozens of people dead, thousands displaced and properties destroyed as well.

Xinhua reports that the rains started early June and has continued for days, increasing water levels in the process. Photos published by the news outlet shows part of the city of Gullin submerged in water.

Emergency Management Unit report that about 1,300 buildings have been razed down by the rains whilst 230,000 people have been relocated to higher ground for safety.

The cause of the flood has been traced to the Lijiang River which overflowed it banks and run through cities and towns. 13 people have been reported dead in Hunan Province whilst 8 people have been filed missing/dead.
