Celebrated Ghanaian Highlife crooner, Akwasi Opoku, widely known as Kwaisey Pee has explained the reason behind his decision not to collaborate with most of the new crop of musicians in Ghana.

During an interview on UTV’s “Atuu” segment with Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana, Kwaisey Pee revealed that most of the new school of musicians mostly drag their feet when they are being approached by older folks for a collaboration.
He intimated that he has managed to collaborate with a few on some of his projects but the majority of them snubbed his request for reasons better known to them.
Kwaisey Pee recounted that during his era, he never snubbed any musician who approaches him with a song and even if he dislikes some part of the song, he would contribute to making changes in the song for the betterment of the artiste.
He lamented that most of the new musicians ignore their approach for reasons better known to them, hence he has decided to handle all his projects alone because he broke through the music scene without the help of anyone.

In other news, controversial Ghanaian social media commentator, Archipalago Mufasa has also registered his thoughts about the recent comment passed by Asantewaa over the impact of TikTokers in the music industry.
Speaking on the United Showbiz aired on UTV, Asantewaa intimated that most TikTokers receive calls from musicians for promotion of their projects on the platform.
She said that, as things stand, songs cannot receive the appropriate attention on social media without the assistance of TikTokers, regardless of how influential and strong the musician is or how long the music has been a part of the game.
“It doesn’t matter how long you have played your music game, when you release the song it is no longer about the craft unless the song is being given to us, else you will have to jam to the song yourself”, she said.
