R&B sensation Rihanna has donated bicycles to Malawian school girls get to school with easy transportation via her charitable organisation Clara Lionel Foundation.

The multiple award winning artiste has teamed up with bike-sharing service Ofo to fund scholarships for girls in Malawi through the foundation’s Global Scholarship Program.

A statement on Clara Lionel Foundation Instagram post reads:

We are thrilled to join forces with @ofobicycle, the world’s leading bike-sharing platform, for a five-year partnership in support of our Global Scholarship Program and quality education for hundreds of girls in Malawi! We can’t wait to share more about this exciting new initiative in the months ahead. #CLF #GlobalScholarshipProgram ?: Dennis Leupold

In a recently released video, Rihanna shared details of her trip and spoke about the experience:

It’s such a pity that they have to drop out because they are so smart, everybody’s learning together and learning at the same pace, it seems. It’s sad that has to end for some of them because they could probably do so much if they had the resources to continue and complete.

About this partnership, Rihanna said in a statement released today:

I’m so happy about the Clara Lionel Foundation’s new partnership with ofo because it will help so many young people around the world receive a quality education, and also help the young girls of Malawi get to school safely, cutting down those very long walks they make to and from school all alone

So obviously the 29-year old Barbadian superstar is not inspiring young women with her songs but demonstrating it in true sense of the word.
