The TV3 News network has released a video of Ghanaian outspoken journalist Captain Smart being made to sleep on prison floors while in police custody.
Captain Smart was held by National Security, according to reports, after the court granted him release on Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022.
According to accounts, Captain Smart was apprehended by the National Security because of an extortion complaint. He was allegedly charged with blackmail and abutment by the Accra Circuit Court.

Captain Smart pled not guilty to the accusations. He was given GHc50,000 bail with four sureties. Despite receiving bail at 10:45 a.m. yesterday, the procedure of authenticating the four sureties’ residences was protracted, and he was remanded at the jail by the National Security.
Meanwhile, Ayriana Hamler, a transgender prostitute, has been charged with murdering Rotimi Olaleye, a married new client whose death was discovered outside of his vehicle in a private parking lot near the infamous “Bissonnet track” earlier this month, according to Houston police.

Investigators looked at CCTV video from various businesses in the vicinity, which appeared to show the perpetrator and victim moving about.
According to court filings, Hamler stopped his black Nissan Altima outside a Chevron gas station in the 9700 block of Bissonnet Street near Country Creek Drive around 11:55 p.m. The region is noted for its high prostitute rates.
Hamler could be seen getting out of the car and strolling toward the west end of the parking lot. Olaleye arrived in a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu and pulled over near the gas station in a dark alleyway. According to authorities, he vacated the driver’s side and entered the back left side of his vehicle, while Hamler entered the right side.
