This comes after the numerous backlashes some Ghanaian musicians have suffered over the years for sampling songs from other musicians. The likes of Kuami Eugene, Mr. Drew, and Kidi himself have been dragged on social media numerous times for sampling songs.

According to Kidi, song sampling is an integral part of music creation, hence Ghanaians need to understand that Ghanaian musicians are still talented irrespective of the fact that they sometimes sample songs from other musicians.

Kidi stated that even as he samples o ther people’s songs, he creates new melodies of his own in conjunction with the one he sampled so it is most likely that his songs will also be sampled by someone one day.

In other news, promising Ghanaian Afro-dancehall musician, Ridwan Abdul Rafiu who is known in the music game as Larruso has revealed the two main originators of Afro-dancehall music.

Speaking in an interview on Okay FM’s Ekwansodwodwo segment with the ace media personality, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana, Larruso stated that the Bhim Nation President, Stonebwoy, and the Nigerian African giant, Burna Boy are the originators of Afro-dancehall music.

Larruso also revealed that the reason why Afrobeat has gained so much more attention than Dancehall music is just because of the language barrier.

He said that Afrobeat music is composed in English which everyone can relate to but the Dancehall music genre which is mostly composed in the Jamaican language is not relatable to everyone.

“Afrobeat is English and it relates to everybody and I think that is more reason why it is getting the attention. And dancehall, plenty of people don’t know patois and that is the reason why Afrobeat is taking over” he said.
