The former chairman of the Ghana Music Rights Organization(GHAMRO), Rex Omar has revealed that the dancehall crooner , Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr., also known as Shatta Wale has about GH¢30,000 with the organization as royalties.

According to him, an amount exceeding GH¢30,000 belonging to Shatta Wale is currently with GHAMRO as royalties. He revealed that organization is waiting on the musician to know how the transfer will be done.

He revealed that they are waiting for Shatta Wale’s account details from his management to pay the money to him.

In response to that, Shatta Wale revealed that he has no management, hence the money can be transferred to him directly to him and not any other person who comes in his name to claim the royalties.

Shatta Wale who expressed his appreciation to the board for their transparency stated that he needs to use that money to file for his tax because he is being pressured by the Ghana Revenue Authority for his tax.

In other news,Ghanaian actress cum model and fashion expert, Nana Akua Addo has lamented about the fact that celebrities and other industry players do not make much money from their crafts.

According to her, due to the government’s decision to halt celebrities from advertising for betting companies and alcoholic companies, celebrities are not able to make that much money from their crafts because companies have been blocked from signing them.

Speaking in an interview with John Dumelo on United Showbiz on United TV, Nana Akua Addo stated that government must be considerate with their decision to prevent celebs from signing deals with betting and alcoholic companies.
