Top Ghanaian dancehall recording artiste and entertainer, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, known within the showbiz circles as Shatta Wale has made history again.

The ‘On God’ hit-maker, Shatta Wale on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 bagged another historic feat as he became the first Ghanaian reecording and performing artiste to top USA iTunes chart for Reggae category with ‘Property’

On Friday, December 18, 2020, Shatta Wale sevred the music community with a jam dubbed; ‘Property’ as part of the ‘Jamaican Garrison Christmas compilation’ which was executive produced by the Contractor Music Group, a marketing company in Jamaica.

Interestingly, Shatta Wale’s ‘Property’ has peaked number 1 USA iTunes Reggae Chart making him the first Ghanaian act and also the first African Reggae/Dancehall artiste to top charts on USA iTunes reggae category.

This comes few weeks after bagging gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for his contribution to Beyonce’s hit single, ‘Already’ off her studio album, ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ which was also featured in the 2020 film ‘Black Is King’.

MEANWHILE: Renowned American rapper and entertainer, Juaquin James Malphurs, professionally called Waka Flocka Flame has expressed his thoughts African music.

The multiple award winning rap artiste and ‘Hard In Da Paint’ crooner has joined the tall list of international stars who have expressed their thoughts and opinion on the buzzing African music.

Waka Flocka Flame has join the African music train as he describes it as the hardest genre right now. Taking to his official and verified Instagram page (Insta-story) on Wednesday, September 7, the Atlanta-born rapper shared a short video of himself jamming to Davido and Focalistic’s hit tune ‘Champion Sound’.

He captioned the post; “African music the biggest out energy is unmatched at the moment in music”. Waka Flocka isn’t the first international act to react to African music. The likes of Giveon, Kanye West, among others have also in the past shared their opinions about African music.
