Shatta Wale has jokingly said Ghanaians always associate his name with controversy and anything bad so much that even when it rains and there’s flood, he’s blamed for it.

The Dancehall act, whose persona and brand has hinged on controversy and boisterous personality has played a huge role in his rise to the top.

He’s won several local and international awards since he surfaced from a long hibernation from the music scene and transitioned from Bandana to Shatta Wale.

His controversial nature and how he beef almost every artiste he deems a threat reached a crescendo recently at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards when he clashed with his bitterest enemy, Stonebwoy moments after the latter won the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year.

He simply knows how controversial he is so making a joke out of the recent that has plagued some parts of Ghana, the SM boss employed pun with his ‘Reign’ album by saying people now attribute the devastating ‘rain’ to him when there’s flood.
