YFM is an Accra-based radio station whose target audience is the youth. Foreign songs dominate their contents with a just little percentage assigned to local ones.
This is has been harshly criticized by Shatta Wale and he says until management of the station change their stance, he will be ‘aggressive’ on them.
This came to light when a Twitter user posted a video of the Dancehall artiste driving about with his girlfriend Shatta Michy, when he heard a Brazilian song being player on the radio.
This outraged him and questioned why a Brazilian artist, whose song doesn’t make sense was getting airplay on a Ghanaian radio station at the expense of good songs here.
