Tabatha Coffey was born on 17 May 1969, in Brisbane, Queensland Australia.

She graduated from Cherokee High School in 1993.  Her height is 5 feet 10 inches. Her weight is 69 kg.

She is a previous contestant in the US show “Shear Genius”, which led to her fame in the country.

Tabatha Coffey grew up in a family of hairstylists as her mother first worked in the profession, and then her brother. At the age of 14, she got her start in the hairstyling industry, working at Surfers Paradise, Queensland where she became an assistant in a local shop.

Her fascination with hairstyling grew thanks to her parents, who owned and operated a strip club in Adelaide.

After a year of working, she entered an apprenticeship program to learn more about the craft, before moving to London to continue with her training, which lasted for another three years.

She then moved to the US, where she opened a salon called Industrie Hair Gurus in New Jersey. She also collaborated with other salons, including the West Hollywood-based Warren-Tricomi salon.

Tabatha Coffey started to gain attention thanks to her styling, which is often described as transformative. She usually creates a special individual look for each client, becoming the master of various types of hairstyles, as opposed to the typical one.

She continued to grow her business by creating her own hair care product company called Joico International.

Her fame attracted television producers, and soon she was approached to star in a series which would become “Tabatha’s Salon Takeover”, later renamed “Tabatha Takes Over”.

Tabatha Coffey was featured during the second season of “Make Me a Supermodel”, in which aspiring models compete for $100,000, a one-year contract with New York Model Management, and a pictorial in Cosmopolitan magazine. She also worked alongside Tyra Banks as a part of her Glam Squad in “The Tyra Banks Show”, and has been responsible for makeovers for “The Biggest Loser”.

She’s been featured in several high-profile publications, and is often hired by top beauty publications as a stylist. Some of the magazines she’s worked with include “Mademoiselle”, “Marie Claire”, and “Seventeen”.

She has worked on New York’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, and has written two books – “Own It” and “It’s Not Really About the Hair: The Honest Truth About Life, Love, and the Business of Beauty”.
