Reports from Tanzania indicates that the country has received its first shipment of a herbal medicine that Madagascar’s government claims have the potency to cure Coronavirus.
A government spokesperson, Hassan Abas made this known in a recent tweet. The tweet reads;
“Tanzania today received the support of coronavirus medicine from Madagascar.”
This comes after the World Health Organization warned countries not to consider using the drug for the treatment of Coronavirus.
The drug which is actually a drink is derived from Artemisia which is a plant with proven efficacy in malaria treatment, and other indigenous herbs.
The World Health Organization in a recent statement warned said that “adopting a product that has not been taken through tests to see its efficacy” is deadly with and the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention has also said it should be “tested rigorously”.
