The former manager of King Ayisoba has revealed that the late artist Terrence Nii Okang Mensah Adjetey, well known as Terry Bonchaka would have won a Grammy for Ghana if he was alive.

The artist who is a promising musician passed away 18-years ago in a gory accident while returning from a performance at the University of Ghana Legon.

After 18-years of passing on, Terry Bonchaka is being remembered for his great music and great performance. During a phone interview on Onua FM’s entertainment show, his manager Reagan Mends said a few words about the artist. He stated that the “Pulele” singer had the potential to win the international award “Grammies”.

“I managed King Ayisoba after Terry Bonchaka’s death and Ayisoba gained prominence. For the first time, a traditional artist won the overall Artist of the Year in Ghana Music Award in 2007. It had never happened. I believed if Terry Bonchaka was around, I would have won Grammys with him,” he said.

He further added, “because he had all the qualities an Artist needs except being well-educated. That’s one of the things that restricted Ayisoba internationally.”

“Ayisoba is illiterate. So he doesn’t understand some things, sometimes because of illiteracy. Terry Bonchaka was a complete artist. He’s got everything,” he added.
