Ghanaian Highlife musician, Kaakyire Kwame Fosu, well known as KK Fosu has revealed the amount of money he makes from the Ghana Music Rights Association (GHAMRO).

Speaking in an interview with Abeiku Santana on UTV’s “Atuu” show, KK Fosu stated that he once received an amount of GHc1,800 from the association as royalties for an entire year.

KK Fosu whiles reacting to a previous submission he made about the association, saying musicians will die poor if the music agency is not fixed stated that musicians should be able to gain from their royalties at some point in time.

He mentioned that musicians will not always reign in the scene, hence in the case of retirement, the royalties should be able to cushion their lives until they die.

KK Fosu also said that it is not a mandate for every Ghanaian musician to join GHAMRO because there are other means by which musicians can make money from their songs through digital means.

In other news, Ghanaian drill sensation, Mohammed Ismail Sherif, well known as Black Sherif has set another record with his new “Kwaku The Traveler” music video.

Black Sherif recently released the music video to his most popular song “Kwaku The Traveler”. The much-anticipated video was released few months after the singer released the banger.

A few days after he premiered the music video on YouTube, he has been able to amass over a million views on the platform in just two days.
