A young PhD holder who is also a lecturer in the UK, Prof Dipo Awojide has taken to Twitter to recount how he gave an old woman the sum of N5000.
According to him, this act made the shed tears of joy and roll on the floor out of excitement.
This man with Twitter handle as @OgbeniDipo then described the level of poverty in Nigeria as grade A as he narrated how he helped the old woman who clears bushes on his land in Osun state by giving her N5k and her joy knew no bounds.
His tweet reads;
“I gave the old woman that clears the bush on my land in Osun state just N5,000 in 2018, she burst into tears, rolling on the floor and holding my leg. Says it will feed her for months.
The poverty in Nigeria is grade A. It is nothing to be trivialized. It is a v serious issue.”
