Ghanaian rapper Ypee, born Andy Agyemang believes unity is all ‘Kumercian’ rappers need to help them bounce back into the mainstream.

2020 was a great year as Ghana had a feel of an untapped genre of music “Kumerica” which became a banger nationwide.

The untapped music genre which originated in Kumasi came in a distinguished fashion sense, music videos and lyrics.

YPee told GNA Entertainment that the movement had slowed down due to the lack of unity among the rappers.

In an interview with GNA Entertainment YPee said: “There is no unity among Kumerican rappers. If we had shown love among ourselves and supported each other, the movement could have been sustained for a long time.

“For now I wouldn’t say the Kumerica movement is completely dead, but it has slowed down a bit. I urge all Kumerican rappers to come together and support each other’s music because that is the best way we can make it vibrant again.”

In other news, Ghanaian actress and producer, Habiba Sinare has revealed that if you are not a Muslim, count yourself out of her way.

According to Habiba, only Muslims are allowed to shoot their shots her way and she may consider other non-Muslims who are in the process of converting to Islam.

Even if the individual is converting for her, the actress wants him to do it because he loves the religion but not because he is doing it for her. Recall that Kalsoume Sinare stated that she will not allow her child to marry a Christian.
