Talented Ghanaian songstress, Gyakie has shared her thoughts on comments that TikTok is killing a lot of Ghanaian songs.

There are some Ghanaians including top music executives who feel that TikTok has caused more harm than good to Ghanaian musicians.

However, Gyakie holds a different view and she made this known in a recent submission on the popular Ghanaian radio station, Hitz FM.

In her submission, she said;

“I think the longevity of a song depends on the song. It’s not really about TikTok. TikTok helped my ‘Forever’ song get to a bigger market.

People still dance Kelvyn Boy’s Down Flat even though it’s been a while since it was released. It came with a dance routine on TikTok too. So like I said, it depends on the song.”

Born Jackline Acheampong, Gyakie was in the studios of Hitz FM as part of her radio tour to promote her new song dubbed, SOMETHING. The song was released on June 10, 2022 and so far, her fans and other music lovers have given some positive ratings about it.
